Important corner capital head in carved stone, later hollowed out to serve as a basin.
The two visible faces display a richly abundant decoration organised around large vegetal scrolls emerging from a central stylised flower. The leaves, thick and deeply carved, unfold into dynamic volutes, creating a strong interplay of light and shadow.
Within this vegetal framework appears a sculpted bestiary, with several animals nestled among the foliage. Two monkeys, clinging to the leaves with compact bodies and folded limbs, evoke the forest world and living nature. Nearby, lions appear as symbols of strength and protection. More discreetly, a rat with a pointed snout slips between the leaves, while a perched bird completes this fauna integrated into the decoration.
Together, the composition forms a representation of the living world in its diversity, where fauna and vegetation participate in a harmonious natural and spiritual order. The luxuriant vegetation suggests fertility, abundance, and renewal, while the central flower acts as both a decorative and symbolic axis, expressing the idea of blossoming and balance.
The base is emphasised by a band of carved bead motifs arranged like a string of pearls, adding rhythm and visual stability to the composition.
