Important white marble sculpture representing a young woman standing, slightly contrapposto, dressed in a finely draped classical tunic.

The treatment of the fabric, supple and fluid, harmoniously follows the contours of the body and demonstrates remarkable mastery of carving.

The left shoulder is left bare, while the right is covered with a naturally falling section of drapery, lending the figure an elegant presence.

The work belongs to the tradition of late Greco-Roman sculpture (2nd–3rd century AD), a period during which classical Greek art strongly influenced Roman production.

The pronounced contrapposto, the emphasis on bodily volumes beneath the fluid drapery, and the careful rendering of the folds are characteristic of an aesthetic inherited from the Hellenistic Greek canon.

This type of representation, probably originating from a decorative or votive context, reflects the importance of the idealized female figure in ancient iconography, symbolizing grace and formal perfection.

      2nd - 3rd century AD.

The statue is mounted on a later square white marble base, providing stability and enhancing its display.

Wear, losses, and erosion are consistent with the age of the piece.
