      English Marine officer secretaire chest (Royal Navy) in solid camphor wood with ebony stringing, in two stackable sections joined by dowels, resting on turned “spool” feet.

      Featuring four drawers, including two smaller ones in the upper section.

      A drop-front writing surface opens to reveal a fitted interior with four visible small drawers, two concealed compartments, a central niche, and storage compartments.

      Carrying handles on the sides, key escutcheons, drawer pulls, and fall supports are all in brass.

      Circa 1840.
      Very good condition.
