Upper part of a stele in white marble of half spherical shape, carved in high relief.
Central India.
12th Century.
The decoration features, at the ends, two temple guardians (Dikpālas), two elephants symbolizing solidity and stability, dancers and musicians releasing vital energies, all topped by a frieze of wild geese (hamsa), symbol of controlled breathing, as well as a frieze of laurel leaves, symbol of glory and radiance.
