Majestic reclining lion, its head turned forward and framed by a richly carved, abundant mane. 

The powerful and expressive model, particularly in the rendering of the muzzle, the slightly open mouth, and the piercing eyes, conveys both the strength and vigilance of the animal.

The mane is executed with great meticulousness, each lock individually carved, giving the whole composition dynamism and realism.

The massive paws rest on a rectangular base, lending the sculpture both stability and monumentality.

This type of representation, in the taste of Neoclassical art inspired by Antonio Canova, often adorned the entrances of palaces, aristocratic villas, or gardens in the modern era, symbolizing protection and power.
