The animal is depicted lying down with its legs folded beneath its body in a calm and watchful posture. The head, slightly raised, features large almond-shaped eyes and softly modeled features, conveying a serene and devotional expression. The short, rounded horns frame the forehead, while an ornamental necklace composed of rows of beads and small bells emphasizes the sacred nature of the figure.

The surface shows an old patina, with wear and minor erosion that enhance the historical presence of the piece.

In Hindu tradition, Nandi embodies controlled strength, loyalty, and absolute devotion. Placed at the entrance of temples dedicated to Shiva, he serves as an intermediary between worshippers and the deity, symbolizing protection and spiritual stability.
