          Crouching Aphrodite in white marble, a sculpture inspired by models of ancient Greek statuary. The goddess is depicted in an intimate and natural attitude, the body delicately folded upon itself. The harmonious curves, the subtle treatment of the hair and the quality of the marble's polish attest to careful and technically accomplished workmanship. An overturned vase placed at the rear of the figure is a traditional decorative element associated with the iconography of Aphrodite.
